On March 12, 1964, Siam Yamaha Co., Ltd. was founded to respond to the widespread demand for motorcycles. The company has contributed significantly to the growth of motorcycle industry in Thailand which has also complied with the government's campaign to promote the automotive industry.

During the half century period, Yamaha has witnessed continuous growth and popularity, which has been largely attributable to the good support and cooperation from the Thai government and Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. (YMC) in Japan. In 2000, YMC acquired a major stake in the company which reinforced its proficiency and world-class standard. Today, we are known as Thai Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd., a leading motorcycle manufacturer and marketer in Thailand.
