Zcoin is an innovative cryptocurrency that offers its users complete privacy and anonymity through the use of Zero-Knowledge cryptographic proofs. It is the first full implementation of the Zerocoin Protocol and is unrelated to other cryptocurrencies utilizing the Zerocash Protocol. Zerocash is a development of Zerocoin, but the two projects are not simply forks of each other. They rely on different cryptographic assumptions and have their own set of tradeoffs. The two projects work together to create a robust privacy oriented cryptocurrency ecosystem, and can be thought of as siblings in the same family.
