Job Description:
• Oversee day-to-day maintenance and repair operations of the facility and utility including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural systems.
• Schedule regular preventive maintenance and ensure timely repairs to avoid downtime.
• Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for specialized maintenance tasks.
• Ensure that the building’s systems are operating efficiently, including security, fire safety, lighting, and environmental systems.
• Manage building automation systems to optimize energy consumption and operational costs.
• Oversee space utilization and layout changes to accommodate business needs.
• Implement and maintain safety protocols, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Conduct safety drills and inspections and address any potential hazards within the facility.
• Maintain fire safety systems and ensure that all emergency exits and procedures are in place.
• Negotiate and manage contracts with external vendors, including cleaning services, security, landscaping, and maintenance providers.
• Monitor the performance and quality of services provided by vendors to ensure standards are met.
• Develop and manage the facility’s operational budget, including expenses related to utilities, maintenance, and renovations.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure that expenditures remain within approved limits.
• Maintain accurate records of facility assets, equipment, and inventory.
• Ensure timely procurement of supplies and replacement of obsolete or malfunctioning equipment.
• Implement and monitor energy-saving initiatives and sustainability projects, such as recycling programs or energy-efficient systems.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promote eco-friendly practices within the facility.
• Lead and manage the facility management team, including hiring, training, and evaluating staff performance.
• Coordinate with other departments (HR, IT, operations) to ensure seamless facility operations.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging the team to propose and implement process enhancements.
• Develop and implement emergency response plans, including procedures for natural disasters, security breaches, or system failures.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for crisis management and facility-related emergencies.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Facility Management, or a related field.
• Experience over 5 years of experience in facility management or a related field.
• Knowledge of general maintenance method and asset management.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders, staff, and vendors.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve facility-related issues quickly and efficiently.
• Certifications (optional): Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Facility Management Professional (FMP), or equivalent certifications.
