Question for Venus Jewelry

I have a set of brass flatware. The box says "Venus Jewerly Limited Partnership 157.1.2 Wireless Road Bangkok, Thailand TEL. ********
I can't tell what the handles are made of, they are not metal and does not appear to be wood. Thay are light colored, and somewhat translucent. Could they be bone or plastic?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
